Platinum Caribbean Jerk Catering’s journey began in December 2024, led by Colin Douglas, the creative force behind the kitchen. Chef Colin’s passion for cooking ignited at the young age of eleven, when his grandmother introduced him to the iconic herbs and spices of Jamaican cuisine. Inspired by the positive feedback from family and friends as he shared his culinary creations, Chef Colin’s talents have since taken him around the world, where he shares authentic Jamaican dishes through the genesis of Platinum Caribbean Jerk.

Serving the New Jersey region, Platinum Catering took off with the help of Chef Colin’s wife, Dorothy, the marketing visionary, and their son, Rajiv, the rum cake expert. Since its conception Platinum Caribbean Jerk Catering has continued to grow and expand thanks to the support of Haddonfield Farmers Market director, Ralph Ciallella and CEO and Founder of Segel Associates, Devon Perry.
Platinum's classic Jerk Chicken is deeply rooted in Jamaican culture, blending the techniques of the native Taino people and the Maroons. At Platinum, this tradition has been perfected by combining a mix of vibrant herbs and aromatic spices to create signature Caribbean Jerk. The Edwards, Fullers, and Douglas family’s culinary tradition brings the authentic flavors of the island to the plate, allowing taste buds to savor Jamaica’s most celebrated dishes.
